New Panera opens in Boardman

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – A new Panera is now open in the Southwood Commons on Market Street in Boardman.

It is the ninth cafe and bakery in the Valley for Covelli Enterprises and is the second to feature a drive-through. The Warren-based company now has more than 250 Panera restaurants across the country and Canada.

The eatery held its grand opening Tuesday and dozens of people showed up for the event.

The feedback has been wonderful. When we opened at 5:30 this morning, we probably had 100 people waiting outside to come in. It was a big success,” Wayne Neuf of Covelli Enterprises said.

As part of its opening, Panera Bread will donate part of its gift card sales to the United Way of Youngstown and the Mahoning Valley.
