United Way campaign hits the ground running

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) — The 2014 campaign for the United Way in Trumbull County is already off to a good start.

Volunteers and others came together for a kickoff celebration Wednesday morning at Eastwood Field in Niles.

Directors announced the annual campaign has already raised more than $165,000, thanks to “pacesetter” companies and others that have already completed their own campaigns.

“We have volunteers who help us raise funds. We have volunteers who help us reinvest those funds back into the community. We have volunteers who are giving up a morning from work to go out and provide service to the community,” said Trumbull County United Way president Ginny Pasha.

The overall goal for the United Way in Trumbull County this year is $900,000.
