One dead in Mercer County accident


WORTH TWP., Pa. (WKBN) — A Pittsburgh man died overnight in a car accident in Mercer County.

According to the Pennsylvania State Police at Mercer, Philip R. Gross III, 24, died about 1:30 a.m. on state Route 965 near route 173 in rural Worth Township.

Troopers said Gross’ 1994 Nissan Maxima traveled off the road after he failed to make a turn. The car then collided with two large trees.

Gross was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
