Ox roast closes another year

BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – As it’s done for the past 18 years, Glenn Christian Church celebrated the Labor Day weekend with its Ox Roast.

Held at the Trumbull County Fairgrounds in Bazetta Township, the event featured nearly 1,500 classic vehicles over three days.

The event also featured food, rides and music acts – all free of charge.

The church is able to fund the event every year mainly through donations.

“Many of these people give their money because they know what this show means to people who can’t afford to go to the county fairs or take a vacation,” said John Chizmar, Glenn Christian church member. “This is some people’s vacation.”

Pastor Frank and Linda Glenn founded the event at their Warren Township Church. It was such a hit; they had to move it to the fairgrounds 12 years ago.
