Grandparents Day celebration kicks off in Bazetta

BAZETTA, Ohio (WKBN) – Sunday was Grandparents Day and in keeping with the national holiday, kids, parents, and grandparents took the time to meet at Imagination Station in Bazetta to celebrate.

Children released balloons honoring grandparents who are alive and those who have passed away. Organizers say this event is a great way to stop and say thank you for all the work that our grandparents do.

“We need to take a few minutes out just to say hey I recognize all the work you’ve done and I appreciate it and for those who are closest to us we want to say not only do we recognize everything you’ve done we love you and want to take they time to say thank you,” said Juanita James, organizer.

James says they’re already planning to do this event again next year.
