WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Several local Warren organizations banned together to help clean up an eye sore in a local neighborhood.
Over 15 volunteers cleaned an empty lot in a west side Warren neighborhood Sunday afternoon.
The area targeted was picked because of neighbors who were fed up with the ugly spot.
Volunteers unearthed all types of things, they found nearly 20 tires hidden in the tall grass and shrubs. When the group started to work on the lot, they realized just how bad the spot was.
“It had been fairly bad and grass fairly high bottles back here. There had been reports or rumors of some stuff going on back here,” said DeAudra Edgerson, Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership coordinator.
The president of the Southwest Neighborhood Association, who asked for the volunteers, doesn’t live far from there and is happy with what they’ve accomplished.
