Warren shooting under investigation

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Police confirm that a person was shot overnight in Warren.

It happened outside the Boogie Down Motorcycle Club on West Market Street. Not too many other details are known at this time, but Police Chief Eric Merkel tells First News that the victim was shot in the foot.

The men who work at the shop next door said their overnight security guard heard gunshots sometime between 4:30 and 5 a.m. Sunday.

“He heard a bunch of people arguing, and all of a sudden he heard gunshots so he hid behind the couch and then next thing he knows, cops was here and there was people running everywhere,” said Joseph Markley, who works next door.

“My father went by quarter after seven and said the police were here with caution tape and towing cars,” said Frank Kostalek, who rents the building next door.

WKBN news crews found a bloody shirt across the street from the motorcycle club. A Warren police officer came by and bagged it as potential evidence.
