Injection well operating again

WEATHERSFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) — One of the two injection wells in Weathersfield Township that may have caused an Aug. 31 minor earthquake can resume operations.

State regulators said the shallower of the two wells operated by American Water Management Services was not related to the seismic event. A deeper well on the site remains closed while data on that well is analyzed.

The Ohio Department of Natural Resources had suspended activity at the two wells after discovering possible evidence that the operations caused the  earthquake.
