BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – The new iPhone 6 is up for grabs Friday and customers were lining up outside Valley retailers to be the first to get their hands on the device.
Several were in line early at the AT&T stores in Boardman and Niles well before the 8 a.m. opening time. However, the chilly temperatures kept customers running back and forth to their vehicles to keep warm.
“I figured I want to get in line and get my new iPhone 6 Plus. I wake up this time every day, so why not come out,” said Randy Cohen.
Bill Holk was third in line for the phone. He said others started lining up around 9 p.m. Thursday.
The iPhone 6 is the thinnest phone to date from Apple and has a larger screen. It will operate on the IOS 8 operating system.
Apple set a company record with pre-order sales exceeding $4 million in the first 24 hours.
