Struthers police get a jump on raising funds for Shop with a Cop

STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) — It may only be the last full day of summer, but police in Struthers are already looking ahead to Christmas.

Specifically, its Shop with a Cop program — in which police officers help brighten kids holidays by taking them shopping at Christmas.

So to help pay for the effort, police held their annual classic car show at the Fifth Street Plaza.

For event organizer Captain Pat Bundy — today’s show and the Christmas program help him pay back a community that has given him so much.

“I think it’s everything. I’ve always been blessed that the community has allowed me to work here. they’ve done a lot to me, a lot for me,” said Captain Pat Bundy, Struthers Police Department.

Struthers police have been holding shop with a cop for the past four years.

Bundy said that last year alone, they were able to help 88 kids in the community.
