BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – Boardman Police arrested a woman Saturday evening, charging her with domestic violence and assaulting a police officer after they say she resisted arrest, tried to bite an officer, then kicked another in the groin.
Authorities charged Melissa Riddick, 41, with obstructing official business, resisting arrest and aggravated menacing in addition to the domestic violence and assault charges.
According to a police report, a boy who said Riddick was his mother told police who arrived at a home on Carter Circle in Boardman that Riddick was intoxicated and fighting with his older brother. The boy said his mom bit him, which she later confirmed, according to the report.
Officers ordered Riddick to exit the bathroom where she was located, according to the report. Police then said that Riddick began trying to pull away from officers who were leading her to be arrested, then tried to bite one patrolman’s forearm, lightly making contact.
Police said Riddick kicked an officer in the groin while they were escorting her from a police cruiser to an ambulance.
A call made to the phone number listed for Riddick on the police report was not answered.
