STRUTHERS, Ohio (WKBN) – The players aren’t the only ones who compete when it comes to football. Sunday, it was the cheerleaders turn to battle.
Teams from the Mahoning Valley Junior Football League showed off their best moves during an annual competition at the Struthers Fieldhouse.
Squads in the contest came from Springfield, Western Reserve, Sebring, Campbell, Columbiana, Crestview and Struthers.
“It is their extravaganza. It is like the playoffs for the boys,” said Ron Carcelli, event organizer. “These girls can be awarded too for all their hard work.”
Coming out on top for the junior varsity division was the squad from Struthers. For varsity, first place went to Springfield.
