Parade for peace held in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Sunday is the kick off to Non-Violence Week in Youngstown. The week was started by students with Youngstown Sojourn to the Past and has evolved over the past four years.

Over 60 groups such as bands, dancers and local organizations participated in the parade to promote peace in the city.

Minijean Brown-Trickey was one of the Little Rock Nine who participated in the parade.

“I need to be inspired at the 73 and these young people inspire me,” said Brown-Trickey.

Monday, Brown-Trickey will be speaking at the Tyler Historical Center about non-violence.
