Traffic stop turns into drug arrest

CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – Two women are behind bars after police say they found drugs during a traffic stop just after midnight Saturday in Campbell.

Tammy Cook, 41, and Raelene Diamantes, 45, are facing several charges including possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia along with evidence tampering.

Officer Rob Vukovich said the two were initially pulled over for having a loud muffler, but a routine check revealed Cook didn’t have a valid license. The officer also noticed open alcohol containers in the car.

While searching the women, Vukovich said a baggie of crack cocaine fell to the ground. Officers then found glass pipes and a Chore Boy (a scouring pad often used in makeshift crack pipes) in the vehicle.

The women are expected to appear in Campbell Municipal Court Tuesday morning.
