Symposium to address breast cancer treatment

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) – The 35th annual cancer symposium next week will focus on the latest treatments for breast cancer.

The symposium is a chance for both the public and professionals to talk about the disease.

“Also, it’s an opportunity to ask about current guidelines for mammography and questions related to screening, when we should start, what are the current guidelines. With having that panel of experts available, I think most of the questions the public may have, someone there will have an answer for them,” Juli Dulay of the Joanie Abdu Comprehensive Breast Care Center said.

The symposium is Oct. 14 starting at 5:30 p.m. at Antone’s Banquet Centre on Market Street in Boardman. The featured speaker is Dr. Dina Rooney from Tri-County Oncology.

The panel will include a surgeon, a radiologist and two oncologists.

The deadline to register is Tuesday. For more information, click here.
