Daily flights could return to Vienna

VIENNA (WKBN) — Daily flights may be returning to the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport.

According to documents, the Western Reserve Port Authority is scheduled Wednesday to approve an airline route and a “Midwest major airline” connecting hub airport destination.

Aviation Director Dan Dickten and the airline could be making a joint public announcement soon, if the U.S. Department of Transportation OKs the route, the documents stated.

The Vienna airport has been without daily service since 2002.

Allegiant Airlines flies out of the airport a few times a week.
