Growers hold pumpkin weigh-off in Canfield

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) — The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers held its 20th annual pumpkin weigh-off Saturday in Canfield.

The record to beat in Ohio is 1,725 pounds. In Pennsylvania, it’s 1,807 pounds.

“I don’t want to let a Michigan guy leave Ohio the winner. But I thought he probably had me beat, because his pumpkin looked like it was heavier,” said Matt Brungard of New Middletown.

The Ohio Valley Giant Pumpkin Growers has 275 members and is part of the Great Pumpkin Commonwealth, which holds over 100 weigh-offs worldwide.
