Ohio casino patron arrested after Ebola comment

CLEVELAND (AP) – Police say they arrested a man at an Ohio casino who made a comment about his wife having Ebola.

The 60-year-old man was arrested at his home Wednesday and charged with inducing panic after making the comment at the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland.

The Northeast Ohio Media Group reports that the man, who wasn’t named, said his wife was a nurse and had just returned from West Africa infected with Ebola. Police said he made the comment after losing money at a gaming table.

The table where the man was playing was shut down as a precaution. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Ohio Casino Control and Cleveland police were notified, according to the casino.

Police were quickly able to determine his story wasn’t true.
