YSU’s homecoming week continues

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Homecoming week at Youngstown State University continued on Thursday as students got the chance to build their own pete the penguin.

The activity is similar to the popular “Build A Bear” stores.

“All they have to do is basically fill them up with stuffing. And they have a little t-shirt with our homecoming logo on it. So they get to take it home with them,” saidAssistant Director of Student Activities Carrie Anderson.

Homecoming events will continue throughout for the next few days. There was a bonfire and rally at the Green on Grant Street on Thursday and on Saturday, there will be a homecoming parade at 2 p.m. along Fifth Avenue.

This year, the Penguins take on Southern Illinois University. Kick-off is at 4 p.m.
