CAMPBELL, Ohio (WKBN) – A routine traffic stop in Campbell Friday night netted three drug arrests and the confiscation of a Dora the Explorer backpack full of drugs.
According to police reports, a Campbell officer pulled over a vehicle on Gladstone Street about 6:50 p.m. for a missing front license plate. When the officer approached the car, he found Amanda Marie Pirlozzi, 25, of Youngstown behind the wheel and a male passenger, George Weidner Jr., 27, of Youngstown. Another female, Tracy Michelle Walton, 20, of East Liverpool and a 4-year-old child, who was unrestrained, were in the backseat of the vehicle.
Weidner was holding an open bottle of beer, which caused the officer to search the car for additional open containers. The search turned up a Dora the Explorer backpack which contained $375 in cash, cocaine, marijuana, a scale, and a container of rice. A pipe and marijuana were also found in Weidner’s pockets.
All three were arrested at the scene. The child, who belongs to Pirlozzi, was turned over to a family member.
“It is very hard to deal with neglect that the parents are showing. Basically, the selfishness of their own wants or their own desires and no regard for the safety of the child,” said Officer Rob Vukovich,
The suspects were charged with drug trafficking and child endangering and are being held in the Mahoning County Jail.
