Turner campaigns in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Voters will be going to polls in less than two weeks and the Mahoning County Democratic Party wants to get voters excited about the election.

On Thursday afternoon, another “Meet Me at the Box” event was held in front of the Mahoning County Board of Elections at Oakhill Renaissance Place. Secretary of State candidate Nina Turner was joined by State Rep. Tom Letson, D-Warren, who is running for the Ohio Supreme Court.

TV personality and Youngstown native Omarosa Manigault helped campaign for Turner on Thursday. She is urging everyone to get out and vote.

“This is not a solo mission that she is on. She is in this for every one of us, which means that when you go to the ballot, you need to take someone with you,” Maingault said.

Jeff Johnson, a former BET personality, also spoke at the event. He told the crowd to do research before going to the polls so they know where the candidates really stand on the issues.
