Car flips onto roof on Route 82

HOWLAND TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Seat belts and an infant car seat played a major role in keeping a family unharmed in a rollover crash in Trumbull County Thursday.

The accident happened about 7:30 a.m. on Route 82 in Howland Township.

A driver attempting to make a lane change in the westbound lanes near the Elm Road/Cortland exit forced an SUV off onto the shoulder where it rolled over onto its roof.

A woman and male passenger in the SUV were wearing seat belts and were not seriously injured. A baby in the backseat was also restrained properly and was not harmed.

All three were taken St. Elizabeth Health Center where they were treated and released.

The female driver of the other vehicle was cited for improper lane change.
