Mobile home destroyed by fire in Hickory Township

HICKORY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (WKBN) – A fire in Lawrence County forced three people out of a trailer home.

The fire started after midnight at the mobile home on Independence Lane in Hickory Township.

Three people were home when the fire broke out. Everyone made is out safely.

“They heard a loud pop, opened up the bedroom door and there was smoke everywhere,” said Officer Brian Watkins, Hickory Police Department. “The woman that was in the house rushed everyone out, and they were all standing outside when I got here.”

Investigators said the fire may have started in the bedroom.

Firefighters were able to keep the flames contained to the one trailer.

“Yeah, we have been in contact with the red cross,” Watkins said. “Usually they set up something where they can stay at a local hotel at least for a few nights.”
