Basket Extravangaza brings community together for Trumbull Mobile Meals

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Trumbull Mobile Meals held its biggest fundraiser of the year this evening.

The Basket Extravanganza brought more than 300 people out to the Packard Music Hall.

This year’s theme was “See the USA”.

Donors offered up more than 100 silent auction gift baskets that people could bid on.

There was also a live auction for some bigger ticket items and a Chinese auction.

The money raised Saturday goes a long way toward providing the 120 thousand meals the organization delivers to homes every year.

“It benefits our sliding scale program. That program helps fund meals for people who can’t afford the full cost of a home delivered meal,” said Sandee Mathews, CEO, Trumbull Mobile Meals.

Trumbull Mobile Meals will also have its annual “Traveling Baskets” at the Eastwood Mall from Nov. 28 through Dec.13.
