Crews battle two east side fires

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown fire crews fought two vacant house fires early Tuesday morning on the city’s east side.

The first broke out just after 1 a.m. at 1421 Clay Street. Crews were able to extinguish the flames quickly. Only the front of the house was damaged.

Minutes later and just five blocks away, another house caught fire on Early Road.

The first floor was damaged by the flames, but the second floor only sustained smoke damage.

A cause in both fires has not been determined. No one was injured.
