2 Bazetta Twp. fires ruled accidental

BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – Two fires in a week at a Bazetta Township apartment complex have been ruled accidental.

Bazetta Fire Chief Dennis Lewis told WKBN that both fires at the Ivy Hill Circle Apartments broke out in the area of the heating and air conditioning unit. While he cannot say for sure that the units are to blame, he has informed the apartment building’s owners that they should take precautions.

“I highly recommend that they have all their HVAC systems serviced by a certified HVAC technician,” Lewis said.  “I will be following up with a letter to them today.”

No one was injured in the fires that took place in the morning last Sunday or this past Saturday.
