Youngstown CityScape presents annual awards

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Youngstown CityScape, Inc. presented its 8th annual Beautification Watch Awards on Tuesday at the Davis Center at Fellows Riverside Gardens.

CityScape is a nonprofit anchor community development corporation focused on strengthening Youngstown as it connects downtown, the Youngstown State University campus, adjacent neighborhoods and gateways. The organization’s vision is a revitalized urban core with improved infrastructure and amenities to create an attractive working and living environment and an enhanced quality of life.

The awards were presented in five categories: corporate/business, institution, individual, neighborhood group and youth. Awards were presented to those who have made an investment in beautification, preservation and revitalization.

Winners in the Institution category were Basilica of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Northside Medical Center and Ursuline High School. The Corporate winner was Edward’s Flowers.

South Avenue Area Neighborhood Development Initiative (S.A.A.N.D.I.) received the Neighborhood Group award and the Youth Award was presented to the East High School Panthers Garden Club and YSUscape.
