Boardman teacher cited for .17 BAC, not stopping for officer

CANFIELD, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office cited a Boardman School District teacher Saturday night after he failed to stop for a police officer trying to pull him over, according to a police report.

Andrew Wade, 37, registered a blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit after being pulled over by a Sheriff’s department officer, the report stated.

According to the report, Wade hit another vehicle with his car and kept moving. The officer then attempted to stop Wade by activating the police car’s overhead lights and siren.

Wade made several turns, the sheriff’s officer said in the report, before stopping in the parking lot of an apartment complex.

Wade was cited for operating a vehicle while intoxicated and issued a court summons for failing to comply with the order of a police officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

A Boardman Schools representative said the district had no comment on the incident.
