AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Austintown Local School District announced the firing of a part-time tutor Thursday, according to a release, after an investigation by the district found that the tutor suggested that a student write a paper on how to kill a teacher.
The release stated that the district became aware of the paper, written by a HOPE (Helping Others Pursue Excellence) Academy student, on Wednesday.
According to a police report obtained by WKBN, part of the paper said, “‘When I do this (if I do) I will enjoy watching them suffer and enjoy my personal time of quietness and work.” Some of the methods of killing a teacher described in the paper included poisoning and strangling with a mouse.
The paper did not name any specific teachers, according to the police report.
The release stated, “An investigation has completely cleared the student of any wrongdoing.”
“The child was following the direction of a part time limited contract tutor who made a very inappropriate topic suggestion to the child,” Austintown Superintendent Vincent Colaluca said in the release.
The release and the police report do not list the name of the tutor.
