Warren Family Mission hosts Winter Fest

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Kids were learning the true meaning behind Christmas in Warren Saturday.

Christmas came early as the Warren family mission held Winter Fest.

This is the second time in the new location that the Warren Family Mission has held the popular event.

Around 300 children got to work with holiday themed crafts and received a free breakfast.

According to event organizers, the most important thing they are teaching the kids is the true meaning of Christmas.

“They we’re having a blast today, it was just a day for them to come and run around it’s kind of a rainy day outside. So they were able to come in, play in the bounce around, visit with Santa Clause, tell him what they want for Christmas. And also get the true meaning of Christmas,” said Cheryl Parsons, Public Relations Director.

Jolly old Saint Nick even stopped by to meet with the kids, take pictures and give Santa their list of what they want for Christmas. They plan to keep doing the event in the new location on Tod Avenue next year making it bigger and better.
