Signs built to shut down Niles school shortcut

NILES, Ohio (WKBN) – New details tonight on a shortcut that’s being shut down at the Niles Intermediate School that we told you about last month.

New signs have been installed at the entrances to the school on North Road and on St. John Avenue, warning drivers not to use the road as a short cut. Niles police and the school installed the signs after a rollover accident that took out a light pole last month.

Police say the school’s access road gets used constantly by people trying to avoid traffic and lights. Officials tell us they plan to also install speed bumps this spring.
