Warren police participate in “Shop with a Cop”

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Police officers in Trumbull County are helping brighten the holidays for some local children.

Warren police officers grabbed a buggy and went shopping at the K-Mart on Parkman Road. It’s all part of the “Shop with a Cop” program the officers take part in every year. The children picked up toys, books and other things thanks to the officers for this Christmas. Officers tell us it’s a great feeling to see the kids pick out their gifts.

“It gives a good chance for the kids to understand that we are here for them community is here for them. We get to know them, get to know their families and maybe we will see them sometime later down the road,” said Patrolman Pete Goranitis, of the Warren Police Department.

“Shop with a Cop” is sponsored by F.O.P. Lodge Number 34.
