YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – A former business that served the west side of Youngstown for decades is coming down.
Demolition began Tuesday of Michael’s Cabinet Shop on Mahoning Avenue. The business was destroyed in an electrical fire July 6 and has since relocated to Boardman.
The building was once a print shop owned by Franciscan Monks.
Owner Michael Walkoviec said cabinet making has been the family business for three generations.
“I have been on the west side my whole life as far as the business. A lot of things that were in there were hand me downs from my father,” Walkoviec said.
Michael’s Cabinet Designs is now located at 1449 Boardman-Canfield Rd.
