Bond set for Canfield man caught with drugs, fake cash

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Bond was set at $10,000 on Monday for a Canfield man arrested following a traffic stop Friday night.

Majed Ali, 27, had a video arraignment Monday afternoon in Youngstown Municipal Court. He is charged with improper handling of a firearm in a motor vehicle and possession of drugs.

Police said they found a loaded gun in his car as well as marijuana. They also said they found 15 $100 bills and 34 $10 bills, most with the same serial numbers.

Police are checking with the prosecutor to determine whether to file counterfeiting charges.

A police report states Ali was pulled over for not having tail lights. Ali posted bond and is due back in court Feb. 18.
