WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) — Work on an abandoned mansion is Warren is set to start in a few months.
The Hughes Mansion is being restored and converted into housing for veterans money through the AMG Foundation. It helps returning military servicemen and women find housing.
The Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership will help out with the project too.
The organization said they see the project is a big step forward for Warren.
“It’s huge for the community that it serves, it’s huge to have this housing resource for returning veterans and it’s huge for our downtown, it’s huge for everything that’s happening in the Garden District, it’s huge for Warren, so overall it’s a great project for Warren,” said Matt Martin of the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership.
TNP also said the goal is to have veterans living in the house by this time next year.
There will be individual rooms with a private bathroom.
