YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Buckeyes fans were cautiously optimistic heading into their semifinal playoff game against Alabama.
The scarlet and grey faithful packed sports bars across the Valley in anticipation of the game.
Ohio State came into the contest as eight-point underdogs against the Crimson Tide. But the fans said they were cautiously optimistic the Bucks will be able to make the National Championship.
“We’re on our third-string quarterback for crying out loud. How many teams can say they’re on their third-string quarterback and they’re in the final four?” said fan Jim Freklech of Campbell.
There’s a lot on the line, as the winner of Thursday night’s matchup will face Oregon in the National Championship on Jan. 12.
