YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Mahoning County Coroner has identified a body that was found in Youngstown Thursday by a man walking his dog.
The body of Anthony T. Harrison, 24, of Austintown, was found New Year’s Day at about 2:20 p.m. in the area of Gibson Street and Mabel Street.
Mostly skeletonized remains were found frozen to the ground.
No trauma was immediately apparent and no drug paraphernalia or weapons were found. A bed roll was found around the body.
An initial examination by the coroner revealed unique tattoos on the arms that were compared with photographs on file with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office. Identification was confirmed by family members.
A cause of death has not been determined.
Harrison’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
