YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — Boardman Police and Fire are investigating after a potentially dangerous device was found in a Walgreen’s trash can late Saturday.
According to police, an employee at the East Midlothian store was in the restroom and found two batteries taped together and connected to a flattened can by copper wires. The entire device was wrapped in a paper towel.
Police believe it was meant to start a fire and removed it.
Police will review surveillance footage.
A store manager referred all questions to the Walgreens corporate office.
The incident is being investigated as felony arson.
