LORAIN, Ohio (WKBN) – Troopers with the Ohio State Highway Patrol seized more than $30,000 of marijuana during a traffic stop earlier this week.
Troopers stopped a 2004 Chevrolet Avalanche Tuesday at about 3 p.m. for following too closely along Interstate 80 in Lorain County.
When officers approached the vehicle, they detected a strong odor of raw marijuana and searched the truck.
More than six pounds of marijuana was recovered, worth about $32,500.
The driver, Joseph A. Rodriguez, 29, of Campbell was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. He is charged with possession of marijuana and trafficking in drugs. Both are third degree felonies.
