House damaged in Hanoverton fire

Crews responded to a house fire in Hanoverton, Ohio.

HANOVERTON, Ohio (WKBN) – Firefighters from four departments spent Thursday afternoon battling a house fire in Hanoverton.

Crews were called about 1:30 p.m. to the house on Route 9 after a wood burner in the attached garage sparked a flame that quickly spread to the rest of the house.

The owner of the house was home at the time and made it out safe. He and his family are making arrangements to stay somewhere else.

A portion of Route 9 was closed to traffic while crews battled the blaze. The road has since reopened.
