Tree stops car from hitting house in Youngstown

Bon Air crash in Youngstown

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police said speed and icy roads played a role in a crash on Youngstown’s west side Thursday night.

Police said the driver of an Oldsmobile was going too fast on South Bon Air when he lost control going down the hill around 9 p.m. The car slid sideways through two yards, slammed into an oak tree and rolled onto its side.

If the car had not hit that tree, it would have hit a house. The driver was taken to a hospital to get checked out, but he was conscious and talking at the scene.
