DETROIT, Mich (WKBN) -One of the sexiest new cars unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit is the new Alfa 4C Spider.
The open-top version of the 4C coupe recently introduced as Alfa returns to the US after 20 years. The 4C Spider made its world debut in Detroit this week and is set to be in showrooms this summer.
The roof is a removable unit, and because the car was designed to have an open top, no additional structural strengthening was required. The Spider weighs just 22 pounds more than the coupe version, so Alfistas should have no regrets that they are sacrificing performance for that wind in your hair feeling.
The Spider’s go-power is the same as the 4C – a 1.75 liter four cylinder, mounted amidships, making 237 hp with 258 pound-feet of torque, managed by a six-speed dual clutch transmission to drive the rear wheels. Those wheels are 18″ in back, and 17″ in front.
Pricing has not been announced but is expected to be higher than the $55,000 for the coupe.
