AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – Police booked an Austintown man Monday, charging him with aggravated robbery in connection with a January 5 incident, according to police and jail records.
Police originally arrested Christopher Check, 26, on Monday, January 5, charging him with domestic violence. According to a police report, a woman said that Check choked her and struck her in the face with an open hand four or five times and threatened to kill her on that date.
Another woman present said she then called 911 and that Check had a gun in his waistband and told those present he would kill everyone in the house if police didn’t go away. That woman told police everything was fine when they arrived.
The two women said that later in the day, Check tried to choke one of them, took her purse and the wallet of a friend who was at the house, and left the residence.
Vienna Police later found and arrested Check.
Authorities filed an aggravated robbery charge against Check Monday, according to jail records.
A call to a phone number listed for Check on the report was not answered or immediately returned.
