Jobs coming to Bazetta distribution center

The Kmart distribution center in Bazetta is adding jobs

BAZETTA TOWNSHIP, Ohio (WKBN) – More jobs could be coming soon to the K Mart distribution center in Bazetta Township.

Union officials say Sears Holdings has closed some distribution centers in the south and is expected to add positions at the Perkins Jones Road facility.

They could not confirm how many jobs, but said it will likely be less than 100.

Warren Mayor Doug Franklin says it is welcome news that will benefit the city.

“It is just good for the local economy, which also has a spinoff effect,” Franklin said. “We are very excited and hopeful that everything works out right, and we will be the partner we need to be for Bazetta.”

Union officials with UAW local 1112 said they should know more specifics about the new opportunities at the center in the next week or two.
