WASHINGTON, D.C. (WKBN) – A friendly wager among four U.S. senators was fulfilled Tuesday on the steps of the nation’s capitol.

Following Ohio State University’s victory over the University of Oregon football team in the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship on Monday, U.S. Sens. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio), Ron Wyden (D-Oregon), and Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon) on Tuesday settled a friendly wager with an O-H-I-O photo on the U.S. Capitol steps.

Last week, the senators agreed that if The Ohio State University was victorious, Wyden and Merkley would join Portman and Brown in spelling out “Ohio.” If the University of Oregon had won, Portman and Brown were to have learned how to “throw the O” alongside the Oregon Duck.

All parties pledged to fulfill the bet in public on the Capitol steps.
