Officials ID victim of fatal Youngstown crash

A car ran off the road in Youngstown Monday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – One person has died due to injuries sustained in a one-car accident Monday in Youngstown, and another is in critical condition, according to a release Monday from the Mahoning Co. Coroner’s Office.

According to the release, Allen and Mary Robinson were traveling north on Jacobs Road, went off the road, and crashed into a tower that supports overhead power lines. Medical officials pronounced Allen Robinson, 97, dead almost immediately after emergency workers brought him to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital.

Mary Robinson remains in critical condition at the hospital, according to the coroner’s office.

The coroner’s office does not believe that drugs, alcohol or any kind of cardiovascular attack played a role in the accident. Coroner Joseph Ohr also believes that Allen Robinson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
