Warren pair charged with lying to firearms dealer

WARREN, Ohio (WKBN) – A federal grand jury has indicted a man and a woman from Warren, charging that they lied about who would receive a purchased firearm, according to a release from the U.S. Department of Justice Monday.

The grand jury indicted Pamela E. Vincent, 43, and William Roberts, 40, both of Warren, with false statements to a federally-licensed firearms dealer, according to United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio Steven M. Dettelbach.

The indictment alleges that in October 2014, Roberts helped Vincent when Vincent made a false written statement was intended to deceive a Warren firearms shop. Specifically, investigators believe Vincent represented that she was the purchaser of the firearm, when in fact, she was purchasing it for another individual.

The investigation preceding the indictment was conducted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The matter is being prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Jason M. Katz.
