4 officers join YPD ranks

youngstown police officers sworn in

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – The Youngstown Police Department got a little bigger Monday morning, as four new police officers were sworn in.

The ceremony took place at 9:30 Monday morning.

The hiring of the four officers will help to fill in some vacancies that happened as a result of attrition. The department was about seven officers short before these officers were hired.

Several more officers are expected to be added in the coming weeks to get staffing up to the level it was previously.
