Youngstown splash pad bids too high

Youngstown City Council says the bids for new splash pads in the city are too high.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – There may be snow on the ground but some Youngstown City Council members are already looking towards summer.

The council Parks and Recreation Committee talked about adding two splash pads at city parks this year. One would be at John White Park and the other at Homestead Park. However, the bids came in a little too high.

“Last year, we had $60, 00 in the budget. We may look at seeing if there is something we can do this year to increase it, but that is what it was last year,” said T.J. Rodgers, 2nd Ward councilman.

City Council plans to seek new bids in April. They hope to have the new splash pads in place by June.
