CLEVELAND, Ohio (CNN) – An Ohio father ended up in hot water for leaving his children out in the cold.
Workers at a Mr. Hero restaurant in the Cleveland area got worried when they realized he was inside eating a meal while his two young children sat in the car in 16-degree weather.
Restaurant employee Billie Busch said she saw Arman Edwards sitting at a table in the restaurant while his kids, ages one and two, were locked in his cold car.
“The car wasn’t running, there was no keys in the ignition, there was no heat going in the car, so that’s what worried me,” Busch said. “I am a mommy too, so that’s what worried me.”
Busch said Edwards had ordered two ten-inch Roman burgers, then sat in the back and ate them. She believes the kids were in the car for at least 30 minutes until police came.
She was first alerted to the kids’ presence when a customer came in asking whom the kids in the car belonged to.
The mother of the children, who asked not to be identified, said that Edwards is a great dad and that he just had a bad moment.
Edwards was arrested and charged with child endangerment.
